Production Department
-
Joomla 5.2.0 and 4.4.9 have been released successfully! Thanks to everybody involved!
-
Joomla 4.4 will only get security updates from now until October 2025.
As the update from Joomla 4 to Joomla 5 is normally an easy update, according to the Security Team, there is no ELTS necessary. -
The Bug Squad Team has a new team lead: Martin Kopp. Thank you Hannes Papenberg for your commitment.
-
The Documentation Team has team lead elections running. The results will be published next week.
Outreach Department
-
Angelika reported some difficulties accessing websites’ administration due to the 2FA authentication. Proposal is to use the vault as the second authentication factor whenever possible so that handover is easier.
-
Following the difficulties reported by the Brazil event organizer, Angelika suggested revising and eventually clarify the event organization materials and information to support event organizers.
-
Angelika started analyzing the Google Analytics data.
-
We can be very proud that Joomla is standing strong among competitors who all are having commercial support and funding. This is owed to the hard work of all the volunteers. So far marketing messages have been a lot about “how great we are”. For the future Angelika would like to get all the makers and shakers to also have a look from the perspective of the end customer or company i.e. focus marketing messages on what problems are solved, what benefits provided and work on more interaction with the readers, especially on the Social Media Platforms.
Operations Department
-
Carlos proposed to charge a fee for the use of the Joomla name on domains and other areas. The Board discussed the proposal.
