Minutes

• Dept 

  • Elections - Jaz informed the department members that she will be standing for another term as Programs DC and encouraged everyone to reach to anyone that they know who might be interested in one of the roles in this election cycle.

  • Meetings - the team leaders were reminded to publish their most recent meeting minutes and to ensure that agendas and calendar invites are being circulated before all meetings.

  • Team Members - Jaz asked each of the team leaders to reach out to members of their teams who have been inactive in the recent months to enquire of the reason behind their absence. 

• JCP 

  • Exams - One exam was held on July 28th in Italy, one passed and one failed. The next exam will be in Malaysia on August 7th, with up to 20 candidates. There is an exam planned in the Canary Islands (Spain), date still to be confirmed.

  • Shika platform - We are awaiting the next release before further testing

  • Start preparation for J!4 exams - Now the J!4 Beta 3 has been released we will start preparing for J!4 exams

• VET 

  • VET processes and documents - Davide and Chris have (re)started working on various VET documents and processes

  • Attracting new volunteers - JUG members (e.g. provide VET presentation for JUG leaders) and GSoC Candidates (contacting applicants early in the process)

• JEO

  • Determining whether to develop a proposal to become a Team.

  • Plan to set up folder structure for the working group’s Google Drive.

  • Discussion about a site for the working group.

  • Conducted a brainstorming session on July 24 related to the mission, goals, and purpose of the working group.
