My Joomla! Story

2009 - 2013

I am working in Joomla since 2009 from my first step into Programming World. I started my career as trainee and Joomla! was in my first engineering final year project. I started working using Joomla! from 1.5 and learn Joomla Framework and MVC structure as a trainee and start falling in love with Joomla.

After completing my engineering training I continue working in Joomla! as a part of developer team and working on redSHOP (One of the best Joomla Component.)

I started involving in Joomla! since 2013 by participating in Pizza Bugs and Fun(PBF) event for companies. Actually, I would love to join this community from 2010 but I was not able to get from where to start. PBF becomes medium for me to join and get chance to become a part of bug squad team. With passion, enthusiasm and with great great support from my one of best jfriends Javier Gomez and Roberto Segura I make it happen.

Thanks to Joomla Event Travel program I got chance to attend Joomla World Conference 2013 at Boston, MA and able to meet the great community in person. There I join Joomla! Volunteers Portal team lead by Sander Potjer in keynote session of JWC13.

After JWC13 I love towards community becomes more stronger and I join Joomla! GSoC (Google Summer of Code) 2014 Team as a mentor. As a mentor I was really happy to share my experience with student and co-mentors. It was great first experience for me. After completing JGSoC project successfully we have planned to continue our contribution and expand this group and make our work more open with the community we started Official SQL Optimisation Working group with PLT member Thomas Hunziker.

In the month of January 2014 I have founded Joomla User Group Ahmedabad to spread joomla love locally along with my friend Mrunal Pittalia. First I started to get involve my friends and colleagues and then I planned to go to local university and encourage final years students in community and get them knowledge about Joomla! and community and development process etc… and started Student Joomla! Awareness Programme. Later with the help of Saurabh Shah I get more members involved. Then we did first meeting and with help of team members I give first seminar as a part of Student Awareness Programme at Ahmedabad University and got success. Then I have proposed the 4 days workshop of Joomla! for the same university and they becomes happy to host it.

In May 2014 I got chance to meet community again at J and Beyond international Joomla conference again thanks to JET(Joomla Event Travel programme.) This I return thanks to JET by writing my first Joomla! Magazine article.

I am addicted to the great Joomla! community and jfriends. I love to contribute more and more each and every day to share my knowledge with community and learn something from them.

My Wish!

Organize an awesome Joomla! Day Ahmedabad.

I have a lot of thoughts to share, words are not enough to present it. Meet me in person you will see community love in my eyes. :)
