While working as a Marketing Coordinator for a company in Corporate America I had to work on the website. The ISP we owned suggested looking at Joomla and so we did and moved from a static HTML site to Joomla 1.0 in 2006. We did another one in 1.5 beta for the ISP. I left the company and in 2008 started another 1.5 site for the new company I was working for. I was let go at the beginning of the recession here in the United States and so didn't get to finish it. Joomla found me again while I was looking for work. I ended up learning Joomla in a much greater way during this time working on a series of sites for a group of guys in the Silicon Valley. One of them was a business coach and at the beginning of 2010 he started sending clients to me to build them websites. I had built three websites for three different clients when I realized I was starting a business. Since then I accidentally became adept in migration and so have done a lot of migrations as well as new builds since 2010. I became involved with the local JUG and began co-organising it in October of 2010. I have a particular passion for JUGs as a result as it's been such a great learning/teaching/sharing experience for me.
