Discussion outline
Current status
Unfortunately we still have a big number of open issues in the tracker (574), plus we have 25 pull request marked as RTC (ready to commit) waiting for some response from maintainers, as a side note, some of these pr has been initially submitted from 2017, and plus there are 19 release blocker issues, so from my personal point of view we are not in so good shape, and we need help from all the community members , if we really want to deliver a J4 beta before the end of the 2019 year, but as usual this is only my personal point of view, from one who, working on closed source world, is concerned about the delivery at scheduled time, i know that a volunteer based community may perceive this differently, anyway take this as only an alarm bell if you prefer.
Prioritize PR’s testing
In order to have some kind of more attention/privileged way for testing PR's, we propose to have a list of pr's for the most wanted to test, initially this list will be shared on the Glip Bug Squad channel's public and private, obviously as an open community, we will discuss any proposal from the community to be included on this list, it is an attempt to focus the community effort (due to the few volunteers), not a must nor an exclusive list
GSOC 2020 project proposal
Even if were late to join this party, we would like to propose a project that we will able to follow till the natural end of the project, i.e. till that project will be merged on core, just to not forgot, there are still some past GSOC project’s that still need some community attention to be merged on core, let me suggest just one from 2018, to the community attention, it’s about CLI, https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/21452, spending 3 months of students and community members time for ending nowhere is a big waste of time, and a big loss for the project, so please help on testing.
Next Meeting schedule
The next team meeting will be: Fri, December 20 at 7:00 PM CET, we will have only 1 meeting on December due to xmas holiday.
