Current status

This time we have focused our attention, on the current J4 status, as a result, nobody in this Team, really think that we can release a J4 beta, before the end of 2019, maybe realistically, we need another 6 months of alpha period, we need to focus more on a mini-plan/updated roadmap for having a beta, and most important, solve all the release blocker that currently we have on github, just not to mention the huge amount of new features that will be killed if not properly managed, when the beta come out, if we still really think in a SEMVER way, we cannot stay forever in alpha stage, but the other side of the coin, we cannot mark a beta if we are not ready, as usual, the lack of active contributors is playing an important role here.

 

Take over of joomlapbf server

 

This is a request from Roland, the actual owner of that domain, i really would like if someone in this Team would raise an hand,we can easily connect with Roland to have all the needed requirements to fulfill this task, i’ve set a timeframe to show interest on this task till to the end of January, as usual we are open to anyone Who wants to contribute on this, member or not, as a personal side note, when i’ve runned the PBF at joomla day Italy, without this server, i’ve been not able to show easily, to the newcomers how it is easy to contribute to the joomla project.

Prioritize PR’s testing

 

Even if this list is not actually being used as it should or as i‘m dreamed upon, new ideas needs some times to be shared and acted properly, i really would like to spend more time on it, cause with the current few work-power, i cannot see an alternative way to speed up pr’s test, if you have an alternative idea, please share with us, we are open to listen ideas.

GSOC 2020 project 

 

Good news we have a project, GSOC 202o Project , and I really would like to have co-mentors for this project, from the team, or from whoever wants joomla work smootly on a huge content site, as an old GSOC mentors i can share my past experience with GSOC projects, so don’t be scared, we are looking for you, if you are interested please fill the call for mentors form GSOC 2020 Mentor form submission
