1. Next Release cycles/dates

3.10 and 4.0 release plannedSep 14, 2021, 6 weeks cycle after that

4.1 the roadmap for release will be published by the end of September

2. Meeting for “lessons learned” from latest releases

The plan for the future is that one or two days after a release, there will always be a Release Team meeting for Review/Recap session, just 15-30 min. 

Aim for these meetings:

• What worked well
• What did not work
• What needs to be improved
• And… celebration - a virtual cheers! :-) 

3. Testing

Question: how many people test RC versions?

Can we check with statistics how many downloads before release date.

More people should be involved in testing.

Some Ideas:

Increase automated testing stuff: ask Hannes to join for the next meeting or make an extra meeting.

Twitter Account for RC information → use Joomla Developer Account for Releases and Tests

Newsletter list for RC Testing and Quality - existing lists will be posted by Phil to Glip channel, Newsletter Template → 2 people from CMS Release team (Sigrid, Rachel, and another “backup” person)

Easy Feedback through button in RC, beta, alpha,... - Benjamin will think about it

Automated Testing - interested people could first join CMS release team to start manual testing, then with browser (iMacro) or selenium

Sigrid will ask Hannes for a meeting/ideas

Idea: Testing of pull requests - like testing points for github, something for RC testing

Translations scoreboard

Idea: in Language / Country Forums → Posts for “how to test release” and information when there is a release.

Todo: we need to make a list of these forums and contact persons to provide them with a prepared posting. → discuss in next meeting

4. Process for failed releases

Meeting with Release Leads, also with David for Security issues and Phil from Marketing.
Questions should also be when to stop or allow to release.
Sigrid will organise a meeting.

5. Release Events

Coordination with Marketing

Make live release events like the last Joomla London JUG – it was very informative. At least for all minor releases, next would be 4.1. Make it a live stream but also record for people in other time zones.

6. Documentation

Live Session/Google Meet with Mike Brandner to show some important stuff in Joomla Docs for our team and specially 

• create and 
• move pages,
• languages. 

Sigrid will ask Mike about about a date, probably on a Saturday.
Get more permissions for our team to do more.

7. Testing Check Sheet

Claudia will add the new features from Joomla 4 to our release check sheet.
We will think about a public testing check sheet as a downloadable file.
