Summary:

The meeting focused on understanding the proposed Joomla Student Club with guests Ruchika Nagarkar and Benjamin Trenkle.

Topics Discussed

1. Joomla Community Magazine (JCM) 

   •  AK will submit for October edition 

2. Joomla Student Club

   • Campus Clubs with Joomla Advocates trained by JEO to mentor on-campus student volunteers

   • Encourage student volunteers

   • One path could be to teach Joomla Coding Standards for developers, other paths should be offered as well

   • An onboarding process needs as well as ongoing support  and retention of volunteers

   • Purposeful stretch goals to achieve milestones for example to complete a milestone, present at a JoomlaDay event

   • Collaboration needed between Volunteer Engagement Team (VET), JEO, etc

Action Items 

• Todd: Share document compilation of the mission feedback from the group

• Chris: Work with Benjamin and Ruchika to further outline the idea so that JEO and provide feedback on how they can help

Next Meeting: 

• Working Group Mission Statement 

• Review the rough outline for the Joomla Student Club and discuss how can help
