JED Team

We have welcomed three new volunteers to the team to help with processing listings and tickets: Geoffrey Smith, Martin Mueller and Dénes Székely.

JED Development Environment

Jenkins environment and are running smoothly. Testing site has been removed from the publishing workflow to optimize the process.

Improvements to the ticket system require extensive efforts to solve them. No updates will be implemented in the short term. Our current resources will be allocated to solve other issues.

We will implement Joomla 3.6 on the live site and we will soon start to run tests to determine if JED can run on PHP7.

We are also in the process of testing the new JEDCA agreement process - moving away from Adobe Echosign to RSForm. This will streamline the process for those who wish to contribute to the JED component.

Updates to Listing Requirements

A reminder that all extensions listed on the JED will soon be required to use the Joomla Update System. This will help to ensure that site owners are always notified of when a new version of their installed extensions is available. Keeping extensions up to date can help to improve security.

This change is a mandatory requirement and checks will be added to the JED Checker. The error code will be: US1 - update sites not present in xml file. This new requirement will come into force on January 10th 2017.

Further information can be found in the previous minutes.
