Onboarding new team members and tool sets
- Main topic was for the onboarding new team members, e.g. history of the team, where we’re at and where we want to go, and a review of tools set, i.e. Google Hangouts, Glip, Github.
New to the team are Stefan and Karen.
Approval system: Talked about items that are considered for becoming listed on the JRD, i.e. community involvement, complete information, trademark compliance, sample projects that have been completed on Joomla.
Discussion of the ticket system, e.g. what happens when there isn’t a response from an applicant. Right now those continue to live in the system and there’s not way to remove them.
Big concern about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
SobiPro could assist with eliminating listings that are not current or active so that we can removed inactive listings
Rowan will run Screaming Frog to produce dead links.
Multi-lingual listings and a multi-lingual site is part of the consideration, which SobiPro can handle.
SobiPro developers will be gathered this coming weekend. Rowan could show skeleton structure to SobiPro and see if a working prototype could be made.
Overarching question for the group is figure out how do people want to use the JRD. Right now there’s a general listing and then things are alpha order. What other ways could the listings be offered?
Post meeting, per Karen:
The GDPR is a regulation that requires businesses to protect the personal data and privacy of EU citizens for transactions that occur within EU member states. Activates May 2018. For anyone interested, see this overview:
