JUG Team Meeting Report - 1 December 2015
Chaired by Djamel, seven members of the JUG Team (listed below) met on December 1, 2015.
The primary item of business was the ongoing systematic review of the JUG Directory's listings in which assigned team members are reviewing all the listings in a country to verify the JUG is still active, directory links work, and that policies are being followed.
The JUG naming policy is a frequent area of community concern and misunderstanding. JUGs being named for an entire country are not allowed. Country-level naming is reserved for country-related translation and localization teams, for major JDay events as approved by the Events team, and for multi-JUG portals that provide equal-access to and event listings for all JUGs in the country or region along with subdomains for each member JUG.
Connected with this topic, an updated TOS has been drafted and will be posted to the team for review and comment.
Also discussed was the new prospect onboarding process by which those interested in participating as a JUG Team member start out as a JUG Community for a minimum of 3 months to learn the system and complete directory reviews for one or more countries and/or undertake other Team tasks. After learnng the system and demonstrating their availability and willingness, Community members will be considered for Team meber status if they desire making the regular monthly commitment that that entails.
Progress is also being made on a rennovation of the Directory software and site.
Thank you to those attending:
