-
Proposal brought by Philip Walton to have testers and coders work closer
Current Status
822 issues
146 on 3.x
128 on 4.x
12 on 4.x backend template
6 on 4.x frontend template
2 on 4.x media manager
20 on 4.x re-evaluate
9 on 4.x workflow
51 new feature
24 Release Blocker
424 unclassified
During the discussion we are looking to classify the issues to the proper version by using the proper labels, however current focus is not to classify at this time but to tackle the 24 release blockers to ensure the platform is ready for 4.0 launch.
The current tracker we have on issues that we believe are to be focused will be reworked to break down the Release Blockers and who on the team has the skill set. This will then allow the team to focus on a few at a time versus trying to tackle all simultaneously.
PHP 8 release
PHP 8 releases next month. The focus of discussion was around ensuring it will be compatible with preferably J 3.9.23 and additional testing is needed from not only the team but from the broad public when using J 3.9.23 + on PHP 8.
Working Closer With Coders & Testers
We discussed a proposal brought to us regarding how to get PRs tested faster and get as close to real-time feedback as possible by teaming up testers with coders and maintainers. The idea is still under discussion at this time.
