Topics
Team leadership
I (Carlos Cámara) explained my intention to run for Operations DC and I promised I will keep leading the team while finding a new team leader in case I’m elected as Operations DC.
Status of the community sites
Documentation site
Herman reported his issues adapting our properties template to the needs of the new guide.joomla.org. It’s specially painful the accessibility issues our current template shows.
We are checking into creating a child theme of Cassiopeia that mimics the current design, while the new design is ready. Two things need to be checked:
- Status of the new design
- Team policies about templates and custom developments.
Old documentation site
Dieter shared his concerns regarding the wiki getting new logins daily with no action from the Documentation team. Herman confirmed those were bots and not potential volunteers. In any case, Herman is hardening the lock in registration in the old Documentation site.
Volunteers Portal
Mark shared his success migrating the site to Joomla! 6.0.2 in a staging site. Some fixes are needed in the SSO solution.
We will check with Angie about the concept she has been working on and also I will check with Roland about the timelines to fix the SSO login for future Joomla! versions.
Finally, we will start working on a sandbox site that can help speed up the development.
Magazine site
Viviana reported that we cannot update to Joomla! 6 due to some incomatibilities in Easy Blog. As soon as these issues are fixed by Stack Ideas, we will update to latest possible version.
There is a sprint planned in a couple of months to finish a new version of the magazine site that will use the powerful Joomla Workflows feature without other external dependencies.
Joomla! 6 landing page
Cyril reported that the site is up to date and we are waiting for the stable release of Joomla 6.1 to update to that version.
Cyril wants to make the site multilingual in the most automated and community friendly way.
I will check with the Core Translation Team about their procedure and automations with Crowdin to see what we can do with it.
Community Site - Service Providers Directory
Lemuel reported that all tickets and incidences are handled in a timely manner and there is nothing outstanding.
New Conference site
Viviana reported there is a Working Group working in the site for Joomla! World Conference 2026 and hopefully a first version of the site will be ready in a couple of weeks. Domain is right now redirected to our Events site.
Extensions Directory site
Mark keeps working on JED4 component.
The site is right now under a UX study by Rutgers University.
Team management
Members of the team asked for an up to date list of members in charge of each site. We agreed on using Internal for this listing and I will create it in the following days.
