Brian Mitchell will be attending the Joomla World Conference. We discussed the overall status, direction and improvements under development for the JRD. We are pleased to announce that all JRD submissions have been reviewed and there is nothing in the queue.

Agenda:

Submission review:

Stefan has caught up on the submission reviews. All listings have been reviewed and the queue is gone! Stefan rocks :) Prior to that Rowan had finished the submissions that were way behind.

 

Newsletter:

 

What should be included? -- An apology for past lack of communication, the delays, and what we’re doing to address it. Brian will finish newsletter this week; need ACYmailing template from Rowan.

 

Sort Filters:

Random by default

Would be useful to do a survey users to learn what people want

Category and geo are a given

We reviewed JRD New Fields per Rowan; took what Deb had done and then added to it.

 

Rowan:

  1. Current system isn’t configured to suit JRD, new system under development

  2. First step is to get a working directory with baseline search function (e.g. by geo, category), then survey the users.

  3. New fields could help capture community involvement, e.g. links to sites on showcase, listing on volunteer portal, forum, magazine listing, etc.

 

Brian:

  1. Need fields that capture actual community involvement. Consideration re directory listing - What is the relationship with individuals and the company’s they work for? Individual contribution and/or company contribution

  2. Want to add periodic review needed so that the data is current; currently no process to remove a listing.
