2 Contribution Metrics

In order to improve the retention and the recognition of our volunteers, the Volunteers Engagement Program (VEP) was started. One tool the VEP team is thinking of, is to measure engagement. Niels has joined the team to design a system to gather the contributions in the different channels. He has started with the development of a StackExchange connector that will report Joomla related reputation changes. The profile page on the Volunteers Portal already provides fields for your StackExchange ids (please add them soon).

Niels talked to Anibal, he's got a tool to schedule (and programmatically create) tweets. It is possible to build something that takes this list, and creates tweets for each entry, and sends them (if still open). Nicola volunteered to take care of this.

Organize a Bug Fix sprint

The team members agreed to write up (in a Google Doc) their thoughts and ideas about the organisation of

1. a (global) PBF - When can we do it? What do we expect? How can we guide? How can we assure that knowledgeable people are around all the time to support the participants? How do we get people (JUGs) to join?

2. a real sprint - When? Where? Who should attend?

3. participation in 3rd party events like hacktoberfest - Does it make sense? What's needed?

until the end of the month, so the team can start reading and discussing and make a decision in the next meeting.

Please add your address on the Volunteers Portal, if you haven’t done that yet. It is a legal requirement for voting members.
