Certification Operation Team - Meeting Notes - 08 October, 2015

The Joomla! Certification Operation Team (COT) meets every Thursday at 2:00 PM GMT. This meeting was held on October 8th, 2015 on Glip.

Presents: Patrick Jungbluth, Andre Dreier, Sam Suresh, Luca Marzo, Hector Mansilla, Arjen Schrijvers, Pablo Pantoja, Deb Cinkus

Absents: Anja Hage, Pamir Masharul Tasbeeh, Chris Keen.

This is the second team report we publish on the volunteers portal.

Patrick reported that the web server for Certification system will be activated during the next weekend. Sam will receive an admin account for that.
Hector shared with the team the result of his comparative research about the ticket system to be used for the Certification program helpdesk.
certification.joomla.org and the certification exam platform will be hosted on two different servers to improve security.
Team will use SSL Certificates for the servers.
Team has to investigate about the server management and SSL certificates.
Team shared opinions and experiences with the different ticket management systems.
Team will ask JUG Team for an opinion about their ticket system.
Website will go online when the JLP application form will be completed; Patrick, Luca and Pablo will work on it during next weekend.
Team discussed about the JLP application form’s fields in order to ask JLP candidates all the needed informations.
JoomlaDays Organizers will use a different and simple form to apply for an exam session. Certification Operation Team will send National/Regional Coordinator or a JLP member to proctor exam.
Regional Coordinators will help during the JUG application as exam organizers.
JUGs and JLPs need to go through a deep validation and contract process before approved to conduct exams.Team should check periodically.
Team will use a ToDo List to improve the task completion efficiency.
