Team Leader Election:
In December the JCL Team Leader (TL) yearly election process was held.
There was only one candidate, Chris Keen (the current TL), after anomymous voting, the current TL is re-elected for another term.
We have decided to change the structure and frequency and timing of the team meetings.
To reduce meeting congestion at the end of the month, the monthly team meeting will be moved to the second Wednesday of the month. We will also now hold this as a Google Meet (video / sproken) meeting.
We will start holding an additional bi-weekly progress meetings to discuss and monitor progress of our various projects and tasks. These will be held on the second and forth Wednesdays of the month, where possible also as a Google Meet (video / sproken) meeting.
JCP goals and plans for 2021:
We discussed these in November, firstly as input for the JCM article listing the goals for all departments and teams. Due to lack of time we will now discuss these in more detail in the January team meeting. Once these are finalised we will share them on the Certification and possibly in a JCM article.
Website and Exam platform
Sandbox: Upgrade Moodle from 3.4 to 3.9.x, on PHP7.4 and MySQL 5.7:
We are now carrying out the final tests for the PHP upgrade and Moodel upgrade, and will hopefully complete this before the Christmas holidays.
Shika: (new exam platform):
We are continuing to test Shika and the new exam platform and will intensify this process in the New Year.
Operations and Marketing
There are no updates from the Operations and Marketint team (mainly due to the lack of exams).
We are now preparating for the J!4 exam(s) and an update of the J!3 Administrator exam.
The J!4 Administrator Exam should be available approximately 6 months after the J!4 release date, this gives the JCP team enough time to complete the questions and answers based on the released version (including any initial bug fixes). This period will also give users sufficient time to use and learn J!4 and to prepare for the exam.
Next monthly team meeting: Wednesday January 13th, 2021 at 18:00 UTC
