Certification Team (JCP) Official
Great News! The Joomla Certification Program is set to resume!
Starting May 2025 a new team will be formed and work on taking up the program for Joomla 5 and 6 certification.
After a long breake due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, the program is being revitalized to continue its mission of validating the skills and knowledge of Joomla professionals. Starting May 2025 a new team will be formed and work on taking up the program for Joomla 5 and 6 certification.
The return of the Joomla Certification Program signifies a renewed commitment to professional development within the Joomla ecosystem. Certified individuals can demonstrate their proficiency, enhancing their credibility and career prospects in the web development industry.
Among the first steps is the inaugural meeting to determine the roles and how to start. If you are interested to join the team feel free to contact outreach-dc in mattermost.

Certification Ambassadors
Joomla! Certification Ambassadors are volunteers who want to contribute to the Certification Program spreading the word and helping people to find useful information about it, providing basic support to the exam session organizers and also supervising exam session.
Exam organizers can invite a Certification Ambassador from this list to supervise their exam sessions since they are trusted Supervisors for the Joomla Certification Program.

Certification Exam Translations Team (CETT)
The Joomla! Certification exam translations team is a subteam within Certification team, with the sole purpose of working on the exam translations for the languages supported.

Designer
Creates designs for all aspects of JCP marketing, working with the Developer, Marketeer and Social Media. This includes website graphics (banners and images for articles and pages), social media and promotional images.
Developer
Creates functional and technical designs together with the team, develops custom functionality for the Certification and Examination platform together with other volunteers and makes sure to move to core functionalities wherever possible.
Exam Maintainer - Admin. & Content
Responsible for maintaining the examination Questions & Answers (Q&A's). With the upcoming release of J!4 we will be updating the Administrator exam and hopefully offering other types of exams. To help us to achieve this we are looking for one or more Question Maintainers, whose activities include 1. Writing, reviewing and keeping up to date Q&A's for the exam(s). 2. Implementing and maintaining the Q&A's in the exam system (LMS). 3. Liaising with the translation teams
JCP - Team Leader
Responsible for the JCP and liaison with the Department and others teams.
JLPs Liaison
Manage the organization of exams in JLPs. Review JLP applications. Provides support to the organizer in all the aspects of the session organization and management. Acts as the first point of support for the Exam organizer before and during the exam session. Manages contracts, creates and updates documentation and materials for exam organizers.
Marketeer
Create content for JCP website and communication, working together with the Designer and Social Media. Support JUGs and Events with material to promote JCP activities. Liaison with Joomla Marketing Team, to apply a unique strategy.
Operations & Marketing - Team Leader
Responsible for the Operations and Marketing activities on the Certification platform.
Operations & Marketing Coordinator
Responsible for the Operations and Marketing activities on the Certification platform. Assist Exam Providers in organising exam sessions. Manage the Exam Calendar. Manage the ticketing system, answering tickets or assigning tickets to the appropriate person. Maintain the Certification website Send newsletters and mailings. Support other teams regarding JCP matters. Marketing Reach out to Exam Providers to promote the Certification Program. Create awareness for the Program inside and outside the Joomla! Community Manage the JCP Facebook page. Liaise with the Joomla Social Media Team. Write news and promotional articles Create graphics (banners, ads, badges, flyers, etc.).
Social Media
Promote JCP activities and news through the Program’s social channels. Create specific content for social media, working together with Designer and Marketeer. Liaison with Joomla Social Media team to promote JCP activities and news in official channels.
Webmaster
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Certification and Examination platform both technical as functional for all core and custom functionalities. Supports the developer with defining the functional and technical requirements where needed.

There are many ways you can contribute to the Joomla! Certification Operations & Marketing Team. Start by visiting our permanent call for volunteers at https://certification.joomla.org/contribute/volunteer where you can choose one of the areas you would like to be involved.
Certification Ambassadors
Certification Ambassadors are "facilitators", serving as link between the partner network (JLPs, JUG & JoomlaDays organisers) and the Certification Operations Team. If you would like to contribute as Certification Ambassador in your region, when you fill out the volunteer form, indicate Ambassador as your preference under “How would you like to participate?”
Certification Platform & Exams
We are looking for:
- Platform and Exam core members: to coordinate Exam Team activities and to write and review questions and/or to maintain and develop the exam platform
- Translators: to translate exams into other common languages (currently Italian, French, German, Polish, Spanish and Dutch)
- Developers: to create the Developer Exam, extensions and do other development work.
We are looking for people with these skills:
- Willing to be involved long term, at least one year (not compulsory for translators)
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the relevant exam subject (Administrator, Developer)
- Have passed the relevant certification exam or are willing to pass it.
- Be generally available for weekly team meetings and/or other forms of contact
- To be able to communcate in English: reading / writing and speaking at least as a second language level
- Have a lot of staying power and patience because for us quality goes before quantity
- Team spirit
- Not a Joomla! Learning Partner (JLP). We're sorry, this couild possibly cause a conflict of interest.
