Certification Steering Meeting, August 29, 2017

The Joomla! Certification Steering Group meets every Tuesday at 1:00 PM GMT. This meeting was held on August 29, 2017 on Glip.

 

Team members

In attendance: Sam Suresh, Luca Marzo, Andrea Gentil, Chris Keen, Claudia Weber-Lenck, Oscar Ortiz.

Discussion Outline

  • Steering Group discussed about the Certification Ambassador idea.

  • Certification Ambassadors will be enrolled as “contributors” of the Certification Team. A dedicated group will be created in the Joomla! Volunteers Portal.

  • Group discussed about the involvement of translators, how to qualify, restrictions, requirements.

  • COT will drop the ticket system on the Certification Website and will create a new public channel on Glip where people can ask information / support about Certification.

  • Group discussed about the sprint before the Joomla! World Conference: Sam, Luca, Oscar, Andrea, Chris, Richard and Michael will attend the sprint.

  • Group is working on the goal/agenda document for the JWC Sprint.

Sub-teams reports

Certification Operations Team

  • 1 JLP pending review. Will be evaluated today.

  • Oscar evaluated pending JoomlaDays application

  • JoomlaDay Texas will host a Certification Exam

  • Andrea worked on the newsletters for JLPs (with and without exams)

  • COT needs the list of JLPs with and without exams to send out the newsletters (from Platform Team)

  • COT would like to ask Steering approval on the Certification Ambassadors Document

  • Andrea is working on the new JLP Directory on the Certification website.

  • COT proposes to remove the ticket system on the Certification website. Support will be provided through Glip and Email.

Certification Platform Team

  • Working on importing existing questions into QMS by Michael. No progress yet.

  • Once the questions will be imported, translations could start.

Certification Marketing Team

  • Starting to promote September exams

  • Prepared the JLP newsletter

Certification Exam Team

  • Discussed the QMS progress / status

  • CET wrote guidelines to recruit and onboard new members
