I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 and found myself working in temporary IT jobs - one of which required me to create a website. Once I made the website the list of requirements kept growing, and I started looking for a system I could build on which already did most of that list. I tried other Open Source CMS' and settled on Joomla. I started making websites for other people and quickly learned the benefits of Joomla as a CMS, but also the immense support I received from the community. I started a Joomla User Group in my local area, and then got involved with running a JoomlaDay UK event. In 2013 I joined the Community Leadership Team, with my main role being to act as liaison for the Joomla User Group team and Marketing Working Group. I stepped down in 2016 and continue to use Joomla for personal and professional projects.
