Become a JUG Team Member

JUG Team Member Expectations/Responsibilities

 

The JUG Team’s activities are centred around the Ticketing System and this is essential to our operations. We need people that are willing to commit to checking emails and for new tickets daily and to reply/follow up promptly in a very timely manner. Inactivity and lack of follow through is not acceptable in this group and we move people to “Contributor” when activity becomes less frequent.

 

Communications

• Polite, friendly, clear communication at all times (including on personal social media)

• Check your email at least daily and respond to anything that needs action

• Attend team meetings or give advance warning for absence. If two or more meetings are missed without apologies you will be moved to the “honour roll” and be in the Organisers and/or Contributor Teams.

• Promptly address new tickets and listing updates.

• Answer tickets assigned to you within 24 hours.

• Follow up with tickets assigned to you as needed and continually/regularly.

 

JUG Team Specific

• Keep documentation on docs.joomla.org up to date - standing item on agenda.

• Update JUG team pages on https://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_User_Group_Team

• Learn trademark & licensing requirements for JUG registration

• Assist in translating content (when fluent in more than one language)

 

JUG Organiser Mentoring

• Outreach & forum support - for new and existing organisers (subscribe to forum at http://forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=562)

• 1-2-1 ‘hand holding’ for new JUG organisers

• Assist with creating, sharing and updating resources for JUG organisers

• Maintaining docs.joomla.org pages by adding their information/resources

• Assist with monthly JUG team newsletter

 

With the upcoming migration to the new Registered Joomla User Group directory, the increase in registrations and other exciting news, there is now a chance to be part of this team.
